Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about planning and booking your Sri Lanka trip.

Booking & planning

How do I book an experience or tour?+

Browse our experiences and tours, then send an enquiry or 'request to book' on any page. A local expert replies within 24 hours with availability and a tailored quote. You can also message us on WhatsApp anytime.

Are your tours fixed or customisable?+

Every tour is a flexible starting point. We tailor the itinerary, pace, accommodation level and dates entirely around you — just tell us what you'd like to change.

How far in advance should I book?+

We recommend 4-8 weeks ahead for the best availability, especially in peak season (December-March). That said, we can often arrange trips at shorter notice — just ask.

Payments & pricing

How does payment work?+

After you confirm your tailored itinerary, we'll share secure payment options. Typically a deposit secures your booking with the balance due before travel. Online checkout is coming soon.

What currency are prices in?+

Prices are shown in US Dollars (USD) by default. We can quote in other major currencies on request.

Are there any hidden fees?+

No. Your quote clearly lists what's included and excluded. Common exclusions (like park entrance fees or international flights) are always stated upfront.

Travelling in Sri Lanka

Do I need a visa?+

Most visitors need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA / e-Visa), obtained online on the official government portal before arrival. Apply early and keep a copy of the approval.

Is Sri Lanka safe?+

Yes — Sri Lanka is a welcoming, generally very safe destination for solo travellers, couples and families. Our verified local experts and 24/7 support add extra peace of mind.

What's the best time to visit?+

It depends on the region. The south and west coasts and hill country are best December-April; the east coast shines May-September.

How do I stay connected?+

Buy a travel eSIM before you fly, or pick up a local SIM at the airport with your passport. Coverage is strong in towns and tourist areas.

Our local experts

What makes your hosts 'verified'?+

Every host is personally interviewed, reference-checked and required to meet our standards for safety, ethics and quality. Many hold official licences and certifications.

Can I request a specific guide or language?+

Absolutely. Let us know your language preference or a specific host and we'll do our best to arrange it.
